About us

We work with integrity, craftsmanship, and purpose.l

At Amaru, we are committed to responsible consumption and deep respect for cultural heritage. Each garment and accessory is created following slow fashion principles, carefully crafted through traditional artisanal processes. Our handmade pieces embody the spirit of Andean culture, blending timeless tradition with contemporary design in an ethical and sustainable way.

At Amaru, each garment comes to life through the work of an association of independent seamstresses in Quito. Skilled women with a deep sense of care and craftsmanship, who sew with passion and dedication, treating every detail as unique.

This network of local talent reflects the true value of slow fashion and responsible consumption, shaping handmade pieces that carry identity, heritage, and a strong social commitment.

I am Lida Merino, the creator of this project. I was born among Andean volcanoes, at the center of the world. Now, with the presence of volcanoes once again shaping my path, I live in the Canary Islands.

I studied advertising, but from a very young age, my true passion and happiness have always been found in the world of sewing and creation. Amaru was born from a deep longing for my roots and a desire to share the richness of Ecuador’s cultural heritage with the world.
